A medical approach to menopause care, grounded in physiology and individual need

Hormonal transition can affect energy, cognition, mood, and physical health in ways that are often underestimated or poorly explained. Thoughtful medical assessment matters.

Our menopause and HRT service is doctor-led, personalised, and evidence-informed. It is designed to assess symptoms in context, discuss appropriate options, and support women through hormonal change with clarity and care.

* Suitability is assessed before any consultation or treatment.

When Menopause Feels Unclear or Dismissed

Menopause and perimenopause affect women differently — in timing, symptoms, and impact. Many of the women we see are informed, capable, and proactive about their health. Yet they experience changes that feel difficult to interpret or explain, such as:

  • Persistent fatigue or reduced energy

  • Cognitive changes, including brain fog or poor concentration

  • Mood shifts, anxiety, or emotional flattening

  • Sleep disruption or early-morning waking

  • Weight or body composition changes despite stable habits

  • Vasomotor symptoms such as hot flushes or night sweats

  • Vaginal discomfort or urinary symptoms

For some, symptoms begin well before periods stop. For others, they fluctuate unpredictably.

Being told this is “just menopause” — without explanation or guidance — is common, and often unhelpful.

These experiences are not a failure to cope. They reflect real physiological changes that deserve careful medical understanding.

Why One-Size-Fits-All Approaches Are Often Inadequate

Menopause care is still frequently oversimplified. Common limitations include:

  • Treating individual symptoms without considering the wider hormonal picture

  • Interpreting blood results without sufficient clinical context

  • Applying standardised HRT regimens without accounting for variability in response

  • Limited discussion of benefits, risks, and alternatives

Oestrogen, progesterone, and other hormonal changes influence multiple systems — including the brain, cardiovascular system, bone health, and metabolism. Effective care requires context, nuance, and review over time, not assumptions or speed.

Our Medical Approach to HRT

This service is doctor-led and assessment-first. We focus on understanding:

  • Symptoms and how they affect daily life

  • Stage of hormonal transition

  • Medical history and individual risk factors

  • Laboratory findings interpreted alongside clinical presentation

Our approach includes:

  • Detailed symptom and health history assessment

  • Thoughtful interpretation of hormonal and relevant blood markers

  • Individualised discussion of HRT options and formulations

  • Clear explanation of potential benefits, limitations, and risks

  • Ongoing review and monitoring where treatment is initiated

HRT is not automatically recommended. Where it is appropriate, it is prescribed cautiously and reviewed regularly.

What HRT May Help Address

Responses vary between individuals. In appropriately selected patients, HRT may support improvement in:

Vasomotor symptoms such as hot flushes and night sweats

Sleep quality and energy levels

Cognitive symptoms, including brain fog

Mood stability and emotional resilience

Vaginal and urinary symptoms

Bone and cardiovascular health support during menopause

The goal is not symptom suppression alone, but supporting health through hormonal transition where clinically appropriate.
